Animate a character
- Open Animator and start with an R6 or R15 rig, or import a supported character.
- Select a joint, move or rotate it, and add a pose key at the current timeline time.
- Add another pose later in the timeline. Scrub and play the result, then adjust timing and easing.
- Save your .rivioanim file and review it in a connected Studio place. Connect Roblox in Assets, then publish the animation through Rivio. Keep the extension and Studio companion plugin up to date so Studio can prepare the upload.
Compose a cutscene
Open Scene Editor to combine actors, clips, props, equipment, camera shots, and audio on one timeline. Begin with one actor and a short camera move, then add complexity.
Save the .rivioscene source as you work. Validate the scene before exporting to the intended Studio place. Resolve missing published asset references and required bindings first.
Exported cutscenes run as standalone Roblox packages. Players do not need Rivio installed. Keep the editable source so you can make future revisions.
Connect Blender
Install Blender and configure its executable in Rivio Settings if it is not detected. Launch Blender from Rivio to connect automatically; no separate Blender add-on installation is needed. Use Blender directly for live modeling and inspection.
Work with your assistant in the same connected Blender session. Inspect and save the .blend source, then use supported mesh or package export and import tools to deliver models to Studio. Review validation results before retrying an import.
Start with a simple static model. Rivio also provides mesh validation, repair and partition proposals for supported cases, with review captures before delivery. Local previews are not Roblox uploads; format, material, rigging, collision and publication limits still apply.
Keep assets organized
Open Assets to register supported local models, images, audio, animations, and scenes. Use names, type filters, and previews to find the right file.
Registering a local file does not upload it to Roblox. Connect Roblox in Assets and use Publish or Publish All when you are ready. Rivio records the returned Roblox asset IDs and publication status alongside your local sources.
If something looks right locally but is missing in a published game, check the Roblox asset ID, ownership, permissions, and publication status.
Publish directly to your Roblox account
Direct uploads support GLB, self-contained glTF, FBX, RBXM/RBXMX models, PNG/JPEG/BMP/TGA images, and WAV/MP3/OGG/FLAC audio, up to 20 MiB per file. Rivio converts supported OBJ, .blend, and glTF sources with external resources through connected Blender, and converts WebP to PNG.
Rivio animations and scenes use the matching connected Studio plugin to prepare Roblox model data, then upload through your OAuth connection. Scenes publish required asset dependencies before the scene package. Resolve validation errors and missing permissions before retrying.
Roblox moderation, creator grants, and experience permissions still apply. Uploading does not automatically grant an experience access. Republishing changed content creates a replacement asset and keeps previous IDs in history; it does not update an existing asset in place. Uploads requiring a Robux fee are not supported.
OAuth tokens are held in VS Code SecretStorage. You do not need to paste a Roblox API key. Choose Disconnect in Assets to remove the connection; this does not undo completed uploads. Your Rivio billing account and Roblox publishing connection are separate.
- Open Assets and choose Connect Roblox. Complete sign-in and consent on Roblox, then return to the same VS Code window. Your Roblox username and headshot appear in Assets.
- Choose your Roblox account or a group authorized by your Roblox consent. Register the files you want to publish and save any animation, scene, or Blender edits first.
- Use Publish for one asset or Publish All for the registry. Publish All includes assets beyond the current page and filters. Review the target creator and requested uploads before continuing.
- Check the publishing progress and moderation results. If Roblox is still processing, use Resume publication to continue the existing job. Inspect an uncertain result before starting another upload.
- Link the published assets to your project. Use Repair references when a linked asset needs its type or access checked in the connected Studio place.
Generate and use audio
- In Rivio Settings, set your own ElevenLabs API key. Rivio stores the key in VS Code’s secret storage.
- Open Audio Generation, select sound effects, music, or speech, and describe what you need.
- Review the result, save the audio, and optionally register it in Assets. Generation can use paid provider credits.
- Publish registered audio directly from Assets using your Roblox OAuth connection if your experience needs a Roblox audio asset. Confirm the experience has permission to use it and that you have the rights to the generated audio and any selected voice.
Keep your source files
Save local projects, animation sources, scene documents, Blender files, and exports in a folder you back up. Rivio is a creation tool, not a replacement for backups.
You keep your files when a subscription ends. Continuing to use Rivio requires an active license; third-party tools and file formats have their own requirements.
